Happy October Day!

Yesterday we celebrated, Happy October Day!! What is Happy October Day you ask? Well, It is the day we could finally pull out our pumpkin shirts, earring's, and Halloween bows! And have a little fun too!

Thanks for the bow Grandma Porter!!

In honor of this fun day, we treated ourselves to some square pumpkins. We usually make it to Arctic Circle about once a year. Just to pick us up some fun flashlights!! I didn't tell Karlie where we were going and she got so excited once she realized what came with her lunch!!
We loved the free little ice cream cones!! Especially Natalie!

What would Happy October Day be without a homemade Pumpkin Pie!! And everyone knows that at my house.....

A good Pumpkin Pie = One Happy Man!!
We wish you all a Happy October!!!

New Friends!

Yesterday the girls and I spent the day with my Mom in the Bear Lake Valley where she grew up. We were all in need of a little getaway! We went up Wednesday night and came home Thursday night. It was way to quick! As long as I can remember, my Mom has taken care of the elderly in their homes. One of my earliest memories, was putting President Marion G. Romney's slippers on. (and eating all his cheese!) She has taken care of some really wonderful people! My mom was working all this week (hence the need of a little getaway) so she brought her little old lady (LOL's as I like to call them) with her. Her name is Barbara and she suffers from Alzheimer's. Barbara and Karlie made great little Friends! It was fun to watch them as they kept each other entertained!

We went for a walk to deliver baskets of bread to the elderly locals. (isn't my Mom so sweet?!)
It was such a beautiful day and the girls LOVED the ride in the fun wagon.

We Love you Grandma!!

Speaking of new friends! Karlie received her very first issue of "The Friend" magazine yesterday. She was so excited to have her very own magazine to look at. She especially liked the picture of the temple on the cover!

Natalie is now officially 9 months old as of Yesterday!! This has been quite the busy month for her! 4 new teeth, pulling herself up, eating macaroni and cheese, finding her tongue, and Biting! Ouch! At her check-up she weighed 17 pounds! I can't believe how big she is getting. It happens so fast!

Mommy in training!

The other day Karlie was playing with her cabbage patch baby Allie. She was so sweet and did all the right things a good mommy should do!

*feeding the baby! (she did this all on her own!)
*changing the baby!
*putting the baby down for a nap!
*SNUGGLING!!

Not only is she so sweet to her cabbage patch baby, she is wonderful with her little sister!

Karlie is usually the one to let me know if Natalie has something she shouldn't. If she ever gets her hands on paper, or a toy of Karlie's, she will run to Natalie and ever so gently, trade her with something more appropriate. If Natalie is coughing, she will inform me that she is choking and runs to her to pat her on the back. Karlie is such a wonderful sister and I know that someday, she will make a wonderful little Mommy!

Feeling crafty!?

Check out this cute little countdown Halloween calendar I found at Pottery Barn Kids! It has little pockets to put treats and little toys in for each day. So cute, right? I thought it would be so fun for the kids. Well, not so cute for a whopping $59.00!! Like many other times I find expensive cute things, I said to myself, "Hey, I could make that" But this time, I am actually going to try! So I bought me some felt and I am on my way to creating this little beauty! I am hoping to get it done this week. I'll post a picture of the finished masterpiece! :) I hope it turns out! Wish me luck!

*Welcome Fall*

Hurray! Yesterday was the official first day of Autumn! It hardly stop raining for us to go outside and enjoy it. But it smelled so good! Unfortunately, here in this great part of Idaho, fall is sometimes skipped over! The snow starts before you can really enjoy the season. I told Dustin we need to go up to the mountains for a picnic to see some of the changing leaves soon. WHAT??? There are mostly evergreens? NOOOO!

Oh, how I miss Logan in the fall. We lived really close to the canyon and would go up often. Especially in the fall! Logan was the most beautiful place to live this time of year! I guess I will just have to drive 2 1/2 hours just to get my picnic in the leaves!

Here are two of my favorite fall pictures up Logan Canyon!

For a last little note all I have to say is.....

HALLELUJAH!!

I finally got myself a camera! (Thank you Dustin) Oh, I am so excited. It has been three months and I have a lot to catch up on! Watch for recent pictures! I will be taking them like a CRAZY woman with a new camera!! :)

If only I had a camera!

If only I had a camera I would have taken plenty of pictures this last Saturday! We went to the Fair!! We had so much fun! We enjoyed seeing all of the animals. Karlie's favorite were the horses, Dustin liked the chickens (they had some really neat and pretty ones) and I liked the big gigantic Black Angus cows!! And the one little Oreo Cow of coarse! Oh, and the roosters!
We had Navajo tacos for lunch and Karlie had a corn dog! We topped it off with a funnel cake!! Now I know what all the hype is about! YUM!! Karlie went on a little ride and played a game that she won. When she went to pick her prize I thought for sure she would pick the pretty baton! Nope! She came back with the samurai sword! (daddies girl!) We had to buy one for Dustin so they can play Captain Hook, and Peter Pan! We ate our Cotton candy as we walked to the car! We had a great day at the fair! :)

So yes, I am still without a camera!! :( I think I just might break down and go buy a new one soon! Money, or not! Here are just a few of the pictures I would have taken lately, if only I had a camera!

*Natalie crawling!!
*Karlie playing in the rain with her Dora umbrella still in her Pj's!
*Playing canyland with our "special tea cups" (made by Dustin) full of root beer and a bowl full of Cheetos!
*Karlie teaching Natalie how to play "dolly house"!
*"Monster Baby" attacking the dolly house! (poor innocent victims)
*Karlie doing the big balance beam at Gymnastics all by herself! (she is so proud!)

Stay tuned for more "If only I had a camera" posts! Hopefully there wont be very many more! :)

Well, I hope you all have a happy day!
That's a wrap!

*Happy Thursday!*

Today, I just have to say that I feel a little giddy! It could be the fact that it has been raining the past few days and the weather is cooling and fall is in the air! :) Oh how I love Fall!

Or, it could just be Edward Cullen!! Be still my heart! ;)

I recently finished reading Twilight and now I am on to New Moon! I can't get enough! I even forgot to eat lunch today because I had to get back to reading! (Yes, I fed Karlie) I better hurry with this post so I can go read!! :) Both the girls are taking a nap at the moment which is very rare! I have to take advantage of this time while I can!

So today Karlie wanted to randomly play with some playdough! She helped me make some pink playdough . I have such a good recipe that I thought I should share. And hey, it's from Martha Stewart so you know it's gotta be good! :)

2 c. flour
1 c. salt
2 1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tbl. veg. oil
2 c. water
Just mix over medium heat until thick and your ready to play! :)

That's a wrap!!

P.S Don't bother me, I'm reading!! :)

*Spiderman, not just for little boys*

Karlie told me that she wanted to watch Little Mermaid or Cinderella. So she went to put her movie in. As it started I noticed it wasn't either of those movies. So I asked, "Karlie, what are you watching?" She said, "Spiderman, cause he is the coolest, and I love spiderman"
I guess it may be good for her to not be a princess all of the time! :)

*Mall Fun!*

Yesterday the girls and I spent sometime at the mall! We had fun shopping together! Karlie helped me pick out some cute pants and shoes! The weirdest part was when we were in Claires. I remember spending lots of time in that store growing up. I had not shopped there in years! It was weird to be shopping in Claires with Karlie for her first pair of earings! I never would have imagined I would be doing that so soon!! She is only 3 1/2! We found her some cute pumpkin earings for halloween. She only has 3 weeks until her six weeks are up! She is so excited to wear them! We couldn't leave without getting a "booth" picture! When me and my friends would hangout at the mall we would always get our pictures taken in the little booths! It was so fun to do it with the girls!! We just might have to make that a mall trip tradition! :)
