Whew!! Now that all the craziness is over I can sit back and take a deep breath! I am all partied out! Here is a recap of the Thompson family extravaganza!
First we started out with a party for Dustin. He turned the big 30 this year! Some of his family came over for some good food, (if I do say so myself) and fun! (19th)
Look at that cake shine!!
The next morning it was Karlie's birthday party! (20th)
Karlie had a blast at her Gymnastics party! I think all of her friends did too! It was the perfect way to party while it was snowing outside!
Gold medals for all!
Then it was on to a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Birthday! (25th)
The girls LOVED their new kitten! It didn't matter what else they got. They tormented the poor thing all morning! I am surprised it is still alive. Natalie hasn't been so kind to her. She has learned to run when she sees the little one coming!!
Happy Birthday Dustin!
Dustin was hoping to get his present when I had his party, but I made him wait! I think he is excited to play with his new toy! I love it because it is Farm Tough!!
Two days later.... more cake! (27th)
Happy Birthday to my Baby!
I can't believe Natalie is two. Where has all the time gone?
Natalie loved her Elmo live!!
On to our last celebration for the year. (29th)
Happy Birthday to me and my big girl!
I seriously can't believe I have a five year old!
Karlie is so excited to be five because now she can go to Kindergarten!
And she is well on her way! She loves her new Leap Frog Tag!
I absolutely love sharing my birthday with Karlie!
And I love playing with my new toy! Thanks Mr. Thompson :)

Sentimental
Last weekend we fought the cold and the crowds at Temple Square. It is always neat for us to visit at Christmas time. I guess you could say we are quite sentimental about it! Eight years ago on the 9th, Dustin and I went to see the lights together. Little did I know what he was carrying around in his pocket all day! He asked me to marry him that night!
We were sitting in this spot when he purposed.
When we were married we took our pictures on those same stairs.
I guess you could say it is our favorite spot at Temple Square.
With our two favorite girls sitting in it!

Dustin works outside in the freezing cold.
I have found him the perfect hat to keep him warm! (hehe)
He didn't go for it!

The lost script
Over at MSN movies they have some pictures of the Twilight Movie. Along with the pictures they have "the lost script". It is what they say the characters were really thinking! It is so hilarious!! Here are just a couple of my favorites. Make sure to check out the rest here.
EDWARD: Oh my! What happened to your ears! Did someone hurt you, my love?
BELLA: What? I can't hear you. I'm wearing my earbuds and rocking out. Have I told you today that you are gorgeous? Your torso looks like it's carved from marble. Who cares that your skin's so cold I have to wear a blanket when we snuggle? You're yummy!
EDWARD: OK, if you can't hear me, then I will whisper the words I've longed to utter for a century. I love you. Love, love, love, kissy, kissy.
BELLA: Um, Edward, I was just kidding. I can still hear you when I have my earbuds on.
EDWARD: I meant every word of it. You are the sweet love of my life. My nostrils flare to embrace your intoxicating scent.
BELLA: Do you have any Tic Tacs? I feel like I should, I don't know, eat a breath mint or something. We're going to kiss soon, right?
EDWARD: I fear my passions will overwhelm me. Let us just hold hands and take another ride in my swift, swift Volvo.
BELLA: Can't hear you. Earbuds.

EDWARD: I will burn the other and sprinkle the ashes in the four corners of the Earth, so that it never offends you again.
BELLA: You're amazing.
EDWARD: You're amazing.
BELLA: No, you are.
EDWARD: I said it first.
BELLA: No, actually, I did. Just look at the transcript.
EDWARD: You're right, my alabaster fairy. Would you mind scooting away from the waterfall? You're making me nervous.
BELLA: So are you saying I'm clumsy? I knew it. You couldn't possibly love me. You are like a god and I am an adolescent head case.
EDWARD: Shh, love. Don't talk. Let me carry you on my back as though you were either a toddler or a sack of potatoes. Then we will ride in my Volvo and not engage in any carnal activities whatsoever.
BELLA: You're amazing.
EDWARD: No, you are. (Repeat...)

Disneyland

Karlie was so excited about meeting the princesses. All the girls and my dad had lunch where we could meet some of them. Karlie and Natalie both loved it. One Of Natalie's newest words is princess. She would point to them and yell, PRINCESS, PRINCESS. It was so cute! Afterward Karlie said, "All the princesses at the lunch were really real!" I am so glad that we took Karlie at this age. Every little princess deserves a trip to Disneyland to meet the "real" princesses. Any older and it wouldn't have been as magical for her. She LOVED meeting all of the "real" princesses. And I LOVED watching her!!

We had fun spotting all the different characters. Karlie thought it was so cool that she could get their autograph!
Thanks to all of my family for going and making the trip possible!
Universal Studios
Sea World

I wish I would have taken more video on the trip. Here is the ONE I got at Sea World.
Watch out for the stinkin birds. They will steal your fish!

Millions of Peaches
This past weekend I canned peaches!! Woo-hoo for me! I would have to say that my first canning experience went pretty well. I guess I will really know when I pop open my first bottle. And I can't wait. I'm sure I will have a flash back to my Grandmas kitchen table! I don't know what I would have done without my mom's help! I can't wait until next year to do more! (maybe) I was so happy that my parents made it up for a visit. We had a great time! Thanks Mom and Dad!! And thanks for the pot Julie! :)
Karlie just had to pose with the peaches.
I can't help but share this song with you. It was in my head all weekend.

A great day
While in the kitchen some evenings, I tune into Dr. Laura. I think she's great! (I have picked up many traits from my Mom throughout the years.) I was lucky enough to hear her read this e-mail she received.
**Staying At Home In Southern California
I heard a call from a woman who said she just cannot see how it is possible to stay at home with her children. I only caught the end of the conversation so I don't know all the details but she ended her call with "But I live in Southern California." Her excuse is what has prompted me to write.

Out of the box
Look Mom, my sewing machine finally made it out of the box! I received it from my Mom last Christmas. Yes, 9 months ago! Now that I have the space to sew, I figured I would give it a shot. Now I know what a bobbin is and I even got the thing thread myself! I am well on my way! I have a few projects lined up to work on. I'm just a bit worried to see how they turn out. So far I sew like a drunken sailor!!

D Day
Before we even moved to our new place, Karlie was asked to join a playschool group. I was so excited! A few of the neighbor kids gets together once a week at each others homes. Each week they talk about a different letter of the alphabet. Yesterday was our turn to host. I love that I get to be involved too! Our letter was D. We had so much fun! Karlie loved helping me plan the activities and get things ready. Here are some of the fun things we did.
Colored a D picture
Drew our bodies with chalk
Ate D jello in Dora bowls and Diego fruit snacks
Sang five little Ducks
We also played Doll house, Dress up, and Duck Duck goose.
We had such a great time. I can't wait until it is our turn again!

Karlie went through a Dora phase from about 2-3. She was excited to get to see her. There weren't any kids waiting so they sat down and had conversation. Well, it was more of a one sided conversation, but Karlie didn't seem to mind. She just chatted away like they were best buds!.jpg)
