Bug Hospital

The other day we were out working in the garden. I came across an ant hill and stopped to watch them for a minute. (I like to watch ants work sometimes. I'm weird, I know!)
I noticed a bigger ant carrying something pretty big for it's size. My weird ant curiosity peaked and I had to get a closer look.

When I had finished my ant observation for the day, I turned to the family to let them know,

"I just saw an ant carrying a dead bug!"

The response was this, " Maybe he is taking him to the hospital."

Oh my sweet Karlie. I just love the things she comes up with!

Little Dancer

The 08-09 Dance season is now over. Karlie had a great year! She had a lot of fun little girls in her class this year. The end of year show was last week and they did great!

This is one of my favorite dances she has done. I just love it! We always find ourselves singing the song around the house. Especially Natalie.
The video is pretty bad though. I realized that I can't zoom in after I start filming.
Karlie starts off in the middle of the front row.

Karlie's class did two dances this year. This one is their Lyrical.

Dance is a family affair!

These cute girls are Karlie's cousins. And one little wannabe dancer that can't resist a photo op!

Thanks Aunt Valerie. We love you!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter in Bear Lake as usual!

Our giant Easter egg hunt did not disappoint!

We hope you had a wonderful Easter too!

I detour for baby animals

On our way to Bear Lake we took a little detour. It was baby animal days in Logan. Since we were headed that direction I couldn't resist. We went two years ago right before we moved and I have wanted to go back ever since. The girls loved all the baby animals and had a great time!

I can't wait to go again!

A flick and a freak out

Hey, I'm back!! (for all two of you who even noticed my hiatus)

And oh boy, do I have a story for you!!

It all began Friday afternoon when we took the girls to see
Monsters Vs. Aliens.

We all really enjoyed the movie and had a great time at the "big theatre".

Now for the good part!

As Dustin was making a left hand turn into the theatre parking lot
I screamed!
Seriously screamed!! The shriek came out of nowhere
and was even a shock to me!

I freaked Dustin out! He had no idea what just happened. He thought we were going to get hit or something. He made me explain myself, and I actually felt pretty silly. I started laughing really hard!

What could make me suddenly scream with delight you ask?

Well... I saw this sign.

Yes folks, that's right. My favorite Utah original has finally made it's way to Idaho! Hallelujah! It's about time!!

Now all I have to do is wait 19 more days for them to open!
I just may be the first in line!! :)

Running Free

Natalie has started to take her diaper off. It looks like it's time to pull out the onesies again. This little one sure likes to give me grief! It's a good thing she is so dang cute!

It's winter in Idaho

It's winter in Idaho
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love Idaho
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Idaho
Im frozen to the ground!

And you thought your December was crazy?!

Whew!! Now that all the craziness is over I can sit back and take a deep breath! I am all partied out! Here is a recap of the Thompson family extravaganza!

First we started out with a party for Dustin. He turned the big 30 this year! Some of his family came over for some good food, (if I do say so myself) and fun! (19th)

Look at that cake shine!!

The next morning it was Karlie's birthday party! (20th)

Karlie had a blast at her Gymnastics party! I think all of her friends did too! It was the perfect way to party while it was snowing outside!

Gold medals for all!

Then it was on to a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Birthday! (25th)

The girls LOVED their new kitten! It didn't matter what else they got. They tormented the poor thing all morning! I am surprised it is still alive. Natalie hasn't been so kind to her. She has learned to run when she sees the little one coming!!

Happy Birthday Dustin!

Dustin was hoping to get his present when I had his party, but I made him wait! I think he is excited to play with his new toy! I love it because it is Farm Tough!!

Two days later.... more cake! (27th)

Happy Birthday to my Baby!

I can't believe Natalie is two. Where has all the time gone?

Natalie loved her Elmo live!!

On to our last celebration for the year. (29th)

Happy Birthday to me and my big girl!

I seriously can't believe I have a five year old!
Karlie is so excited to be five because now she can go to Kindergarten!

And she is well on her way! She loves her new Leap Frog Tag!

I absolutely love sharing my birthday with Karlie!

And I love playing with my new toy! Thanks Mr. Thompson :)

Sentimental

Last weekend we fought the cold and the crowds at Temple Square. It is always neat for us to visit at Christmas time. I guess you could say we are quite sentimental about it! Eight years ago on the 9th, Dustin and I went to see the lights together. Little did I know what he was carrying around in his pocket all day! He asked me to marry him that night!
So cliche! (although it was quite perfect!)

We were sitting in this spot when he purposed.
When we were married we took our pictures on those same stairs.
I guess you could say it is our favorite spot at Temple Square.
With our two favorite girls sitting in it!

Beard Cap

Dustin works outside in the freezing cold.

I have found him the perfect hat to keep him warm! (hehe)

He didn't go for it!

What do you think?

Found here.
