Sunbeam

Karlie participated in her very first Primary Program yesterday! It was so fun to watch her. She said her line perfectly and all by herself! She wasn't even the one to practically eat the microphone and scare everyone. I love watching her sing the songs! She would even lead the music while she watched the chorister! She told me she was, "Just like Leo from Little Einsteins." It was so cute. I love it when she will randomly sing the songs she learns in Primary. Primary is the best!! :)

Grandmas are Great!

This past weekend we went to visit Grandma Nikki. (aka, Dustin's Grandma) She recently returned from her mission to England so it was fun to spend a little time with her! She even took a little break from her yard work to play with us!
After enjoying an apple from one of the tree's, Karlie had fun playing on the swing set! Natalie enjoyed her cracker on the grass, while waving to us! She even got some extra nutrients from chewing on a few leaves and twigs! :)
Grandma Nikki has the prettiest yard! We always enjoy our visits to her house! We love you "Great" Grandma Nikki!

I only wish!

I saw this quiz on Erica's blog and thought I would give it a shot. I have taken some quiz's like this before but never really liked the outcome. I think I can live with this one! :)

You Belong in Rome

You're a big city soul with a small town heart

Which is why you're attracted to the romance of Rome

Strolling down picture perfect streets, cappuccino in hand

And gorgeous Italian people - could life get any better?

Happy mail!

Yesterday I received the package I have been waiting for. I found this shirt and just had to have it! I know, I am such a dork!!

They also have a cute one for the Jacob fans out there!
I just can't imagine them selling as well though! :)

Our Little Chef

Karlie loves to help me cook. She especially loves to come up with her own little creations! Her specialty is "hot chicken noodle soup!" The ingredients vary from time to time. Last night they included,

*water
*a handful of Cheerios
*a few egg noodles
*a dash of salt

*a few twists of freshly ground pepper
*what was left of the Halloween sprinkles
*lots of TLC!

Combine ingredients to your heart's
content, and gently stir!

Bake in a cold oven for two minutes,
and ENJOY!! (but not really, yuck!)

Look at that masterpiece!!
I love to watch her play and her imagination go wild! I am hoping all this practice will pay off and someday she will bring me breakfast in bed!! :)

Happy October Day!

Yesterday we celebrated, Happy October Day!! What is Happy October Day you ask? Well, It is the day we could finally pull out our pumpkin shirts, earring's, and Halloween bows! And have a little fun too!

Thanks for the bow Grandma Porter!!

In honor of this fun day, we treated ourselves to some square pumpkins. We usually make it to Arctic Circle about once a year. Just to pick us up some fun flashlights!! I didn't tell Karlie where we were going and she got so excited once she realized what came with her lunch!!
We loved the free little ice cream cones!! Especially Natalie!

What would Happy October Day be without a homemade Pumpkin Pie!! And everyone knows that at my house.....

A good Pumpkin Pie = One Happy Man!!
We wish you all a Happy October!!!

New Friends!

Yesterday the girls and I spent the day with my Mom in the Bear Lake Valley where she grew up. We were all in need of a little getaway! We went up Wednesday night and came home Thursday night. It was way to quick! As long as I can remember, my Mom has taken care of the elderly in their homes. One of my earliest memories, was putting President Marion G. Romney's slippers on. (and eating all his cheese!) She has taken care of some really wonderful people! My mom was working all this week (hence the need of a little getaway) so she brought her little old lady (LOL's as I like to call them) with her. Her name is Barbara and she suffers from Alzheimer's. Barbara and Karlie made great little Friends! It was fun to watch them as they kept each other entertained!

We went for a walk to deliver baskets of bread to the elderly locals. (isn't my Mom so sweet?!)
It was such a beautiful day and the girls LOVED the ride in the fun wagon.

We Love you Grandma!!

Speaking of new friends! Karlie received her very first issue of "The Friend" magazine yesterday. She was so excited to have her very own magazine to look at. She especially liked the picture of the temple on the cover!

Natalie is now officially 9 months old as of Yesterday!! This has been quite the busy month for her! 4 new teeth, pulling herself up, eating macaroni and cheese, finding her tongue, and Biting! Ouch! At her check-up she weighed 17 pounds! I can't believe how big she is getting. It happens so fast!

Mommy in training!

The other day Karlie was playing with her cabbage patch baby Allie. She was so sweet and did all the right things a good mommy should do!

*feeding the baby! (she did this all on her own!)
*changing the baby!
*putting the baby down for a nap!
*SNUGGLING!!

Not only is she so sweet to her cabbage patch baby, she is wonderful with her little sister!

Karlie is usually the one to let me know if Natalie has something she shouldn't. If she ever gets her hands on paper, or a toy of Karlie's, she will run to Natalie and ever so gently, trade her with something more appropriate. If Natalie is coughing, she will inform me that she is choking and runs to her to pat her on the back. Karlie is such a wonderful sister and I know that someday, she will make a wonderful little Mommy!
